It doesn’t matter whether you are Christian , Jew, atheist, Democrat or Republican, a supporter of Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, or another candidate, one thing is certain: Grassroots-Americans realize they are endangered by our national leadership. The country is forcibly being removed from its original identity and roots. That realization has been slow-coming to some but as a result, Americans are protesting in loud voices. If you don’t believe that just turn on your T.V. and listen to the Presidential-Candidates debate. I am not telling you how to vote but as an 85 year old American whose 5th generation great grandfather fought in the 1776 Revolution and now under my fourteenth U.S. President, I am more fearful of our national survival than I have ever been. Nor am I alone.. Joseph Stalin said, "America is a healthy body. Its strength lies in its patriotism, morality, and spirituality. If we can destroy these three, America will drop like an over-ripe fruit into our hands." Stalin’s three-pronged attack has been underway for a long time and is now gaining visible success. Do you want an example?
Cadets at West Point Military Academy are now taught that Conservative Americans are Terrorists. A 148 page book entitled Challengers from the Sidelines: Understanding America’s Violent Far-Right. identifies patriotic, mainstream conservative Americans as terrorists and literally accuses us as being Public Enemy Number One. The author, Arie Perlinger, is currently Director of Terrorism Studies for the Combating Terrorism Center at the U.S. Military Academy. Mr. Perlinger needs to be told it was not Christians who blew up the World Trade Center. It was Muslims! Are Muslims on Mr. Perlinger’s list of terrorists? No. Isn’t that strange? Perlinger quotes the Southern Poverty Law Center, an acknowledged pro-communist organization in his anti-Christian tirade. If that does not scare you, be aware that Obama has packed the Home Land Security Office and numerous other agencies with Muslims who now have the power to "protect" you.
Seven years ago, in April 2009, Obama appointed Janet Napolitano as assistant secretary for the Department of Homeland Security who publically announced her intention of promotion Islamic religion in the U.S. as far as possible. She quickly appointed Arif Alikhan, a devout Muslim, as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development for the Department. Hussam Ayloush, another Muslim and executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Los Angeles branch, praised the "well-deserved" appointment.
Former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, overruled the Immigration and Nationality Act by allowing Tariq Ramadan into the United States. Ramadan, a strong power in the Muslim Brotherhood, is the grandson of the Brotherhood’s founder. He had been banned from the US since 2004 because of his contributions to Hamas and links to radical Islamists. The announcement of his welcome into the U.S. was made on the eve of our "Fourth of July" holiday when the United States celebrates its victory in the Revolution. The question that should frighten every American- liberal or conservative- is “Why did she do that?! What was her motive? How did America benefit by bringing the monster onto our soil?” What an insult to Americans! What an encouragement to radical Islam!  The stated goal of the Brotherhood–that hates Christianity–is the destruction of the United States, Israel, and all other parts of the Free World. The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in 1928 for the single purpose of establishing global Sharia Law through "Holy War." We have witnessed "Holy War" in the middle east where ISIS has murdered, raped, crucified children, cut off heads, destroyed historic landmarks, and vowed death to every non-Muslim.
The "M.B."is the protective organization that aids terrorist groups including Hamas, Hezbollah, and al Qaeda. What about us sincere American Christians? This is my point: For the first time in U.S. history, conservative God-fearing Christians are officially identified as "potential terrorists" while international terrorists are welcomed with open arms. There is another aspect of the battle that is non-violent: Without authorization of Congress or consulting public opinion, a few self-appointed individuals are changing the fundamental concept of our Nation’s legal system and erasing its’ spiritual heritage.
A few years ago Todd DuBord, pastor of the Lake Almanor Community Church in California, visited Washington, D.C. with his wife, Tracy. Among other sites, they visited the United States Supreme Court Building. This beautiful structure is adorned by numerous marble carvings, including one directly above the Chief Justice’s Chair of Moses holding the Ten Commandments. There is no mistaking the significance of the massive artwork by Jewish artist-sculptor Adolph A. Weinman. There are seven other depictions of Moses in the building. Two exteriors, bronze doors, wooden doors, and interior Court Room doors, contains art work depicting the Bible’s Lawgiver.
As the pastor and his wife stood admiring one of the Ten Commandments they were startled by the guide’s explanation of its’ meaning. Pointing to the freize, she said, "Between the images of the people depicting the Majesty of the Law and Power of Government, there is a tablet with ten Roman numerals. The first five down the left side and the last five down the right. This tablet represents the first ten amendments of the Bill of Rights". — The ten amendments? Pastor DuBord couldn’t believe his ears. What happened to the Ten Commandments?! They were gone. Replaced by "amendments". Who authorized such a sweeping change of America’s top Court of Law? When confronted about the alteration, the guide knew nothing of Moses and the Law of God, or the carvings’ original meaning. She was merely repeating what she had been told.
This substitution of "amendments" for Commandments was not authorized by Congress and democratically-made choices of the American people. It was done by a small minority of self-appointed atheists whose names remain hidden and faces unrecognized.
The Court is accustomed to this kind of complaint. An Israeli sculptor named Avrahaum Segol bombarded the Court and the media with letters questioning why Weinman had not included the full text of the Ten Commandments. Moses’ beard obscures part of them. A Court official wrote Segol, "It is clear that the sculptor intended for the tablet to represent the entire text of the Ten Commandments." While the U.S. Supreme Court Building wears garlands of Biblical history other courts across the land are forced to remove all references to God and the Ten Commandments.
In contrast, James Madison, a chief contributor to the Constitution, explained the Document’s relationship to God: "We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government but upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God." In 1892, the United States Supreme Court declared, "Our laws and institutions must necessarily be based upon the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind." Today that has changed. A few individuals have privately taken it upon themselves to eliminate Madison’s Christian ideals from the Supreme Court.
This kind of political treachery is not new: In parts of the old Soviet Union less than 5% of the population were card-carrying Communists--but they forced total control over the 95%. Until recent years, approximately 5% of the American population were atheist. Yet this small percentile are aggressively forcing control over the 95% and stripping the U.S. of its’ religious freedom and heritage. The ACLU–American Civil Liberties Union–is leader in that effort.
Instead of banning references to God in government, the writers of both the Declaration Of Independence and the Constitution urgently encouraged the people to call upon Divine Providence. The Constitutional Convention was failing until Benjamin Franklin rose and urged the men to pray. Every President since has sought the Nation’s prayers. This was the concept imbued into both historic documents–the Declaration and Constitution–and was the attitude the Founding Fathers expected of all future generations. To deny that obvious truth is to resort to fraudulence and deceit. But, the 5% are doing that.
Our Founding Fathers did not leave us without guidance as to their intent for the merging of civil and religious matters in American life. Today, these men are being replaced by traitors to the cause of freedom. Our forefathers clearly expressed their position in the Declaration of Independence when they said: "And for the support of this declaration, with a firm Reliance on the Protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, and Fortunes and our sacred Honor." When the U.S. Supreme Court building was constructed with Moses and the Ten Commandments given the most prominent position, it was with the full blessing of Congress and the American people.
President John Quincy Adams explained, "Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other." He went on to say, "The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: It connected, in one indissoluble bond, the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity." Of the Declaration of Independence, he declared: "It laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity." Note the expression "indissoluble bond."
Where do the 5% get support for their position? Not from the Constitution or its authors. It comes from their self-centered deceitfulness to ignore the will of the masses, to suppress the 95% majority and accommodate their own egoistic ways. How is their tactic different from the tactic of Communism’s 5%? There is no difference. Were the men alive today who fought British tyranny and defeated the greatest army and navy of their day, they would oppose today’s 5% with equal dread. Can I prove that statement? Yes! When Patrick Henry said, "America was not founded by religionists, nor on any religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ!," he was not booed-down by politicians. He was applauded by Statesmen. Were he now to return he would find that his beloved America has been robbed by political bandits.
Case in point: America’s public education occupied the highest academic standard in the world until atheist Madelyn Murray O’Hare (one of the 5%) succeeded in removing prayer from public schools. Since that time American educational standard has plummeted to the level of a Third World Country. Whether the effect of prayer on individual students had been spiritual or purely psychological is not the issue. The fact is, the benefit was there. At an extremely high price America forfeited its educational accomplishment to satisfy the 5%. In some areas the result has been the near-collapse of our educational system.
Michael Newdow, an atheist (one of the 5%) filed suit in the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to remove the words "Under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance and sued to remove our national motto, "In God We Trust," from all U.S. currency. Replacing American coins and bills would cost the national treasury billions of dollars. Newdow cares absolutely nothing about that or the rights of the 95%. Informed sources expect the Court to ultimately agree with Newdow’s suit. Out National Anthem, the "Star Spangled Banner," contains the words "In God is our trust." Another beloved national hymn, "America" says "God shed His grace on thee."
Also at risk are "God Bless America." What about "Our fathers’ God, to Thee, author of liberty, to Thee we sing. Long may our land be bright with freedom’s holy light, Protect us by Thy might, Great God our King!"? The 5% tells the 95% they can no longer sing these in public. What does the majority do about it? Cry in their pillows at night! With little resistance from the masses, the 5% forbids displaying the Ten Commandments or other references to God in Courts, classrooms, and government property across the land. Washington, Madison, Jefferson, Adams, Hancock, and other early American statesmen would react violently to this destruction of our moral foundation.
Political freedom and spiritual strength are inseparable. This nation is dependent on both. When the foundation of Godly truth is removed from political life the nation will collapse. There is no other way. Church, wake up! Watch! Your time is short!
The 5% has also targeted the Church. It is only a matter of time before Churches and religious organizations will be stripped of their tax-exempt status and forced into bankruptcy. You have been forewarned. This is coming. When that happens thousands of congregations across the land will lose their property, buildings will be seized and sold, and Christians will find themselves on the streets. Don’t be fooled! This is the plan of the 5%. Churches who own valuable mid-town property in high-tax areas cannot afford the same assessment as Fortune 500 Companies, Banks, and major Corporations.
Here is what I am saying: The failure of the Constitutional Convention was not in the Document they composed. Failure lay in the fact that the authors could not anticipate that centuries later devious minds would search for silent areas in the document and then claim those silences were what the framers’ intended to be its’ greatest strengths. For example: Since the Constitution says nothing forbidding homosexual marriage, proponents argue that the Constitution’s lack of prohibition grants liberty for such unions to take place. Another deception: The oft-quoted "separation of Church and State" expression, which does not even appear in the Constitution, came long after the drafting of the Constitution and appeared in a personal letter Thomas Jefferson wrote a Baptist Association in Virginia assuring them that the State would never threaten the liberty and well-being of the Church. The State would remain separate from the Church’s operations.
Did Jefferson imply that all references to God would have to be removed from American government and public life? Absolutely not! That was not the consideration. Nor had it ever been. Instead, Jefferson stood with others whose signature on the Declaration Of Independence told King George that with "firm reliance" they depended on the "protection of divine providence." The Cornerstone of American government was laid in the cement of patriotic blood--and patriotic devotion to the Almighty. When the National Capitol was completed it was Jefferson who requested Christian worship services to be held in the Rotunda every Sunday. He regularly attended.
Today, in direct opposition to the will of the Constitution's authors, the 5% forbids displaying the Ten Commandments in class rooms and Courts of the land. The 95% doesn’t count. Instead, the intent is to reduce America to a godless atheistic society. Proof? The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the one hearing Michael Newdow’s case, has already ruled that judges--not parents--have final say in what 6 and 7 year old school children are taught about sex, homosexuality as an alternate lifestyle, the use of condoms, etc. As loyal Americans who salutes the flag, stand for our National Anthem, and pray for the President, we have become national enemies. Have we been betrayed? Absolutely! Also be aware, while Christians are identified by name, the accusation falls on all politically-conservative Americans.
Joseph Stalin’s plan for America’s destruction is witnessing great success. It can still be stopped by Christians across America rallying together to elect leaders who love America and wants to restore her nobility. A strong, united front can achieve that. Pray that we will again be "one Nation under God!" Vote! If you fail to vote you have betrayed your conscience and the rest of Christianity. Also be aware that Arie Perlinger accuses all politically-conservative Americans–Christians and non-Christians. As loyal Americans who salute the flag, stand for our National Anthem, pray for the President and "all who are in authority over us," we have become national enemies. The angered resistance now showing up at rallies is proof. And that is what I mean by saying "the fat lady is beginning to sing." God grant that her song will be a hymn of peace and not a marching-song of war. Amen!

In 1620, when the Pilgrims fled England for America they left behind one of the bright stars of the Puritan movement.  That man was Pastor John Robinson who had guided them through years of political and religious turmoil. With others, he had battled tradition’s unrelenting grip in the Church of  England. It was in the abandonment of that hope for change in Britain that the Pilgrims finally  sailed for the new world. The day of their departure Pastor Robinson preached a farewell address which is still a challenge to the church today. He said: "I charge you before God and before his blessed angels, that you follow me no further than you have seen me follow the Lord Jesus Christ. If God reveal anything to you by any other instrument of his (another minister), be as ready to receive it as ever you were to receive any truth by my ministry:  for I am verily persuaded, I am very confident, the Lord hath more truth yet to break forth out of his holy Word. For my part, I cannot sufficiently bewail the condition of the reformed churches, who are come to a full stop in religion and will go at present, no further than the instruments of their first reformation.  The Lutherans cannot be drawn to go beyond what Luther saw: whatever part of his will our good God has imparted and revealed unto Calvin, they will rather die than embrace it.  And the Calvinists, you see, stick fast where they were left by that great man of God; who yet saw not all things.  This is a misery much to be lamented; for though they were burning and shining lights in their times, yet they penetrated not into the whole counsel of God: but were they now living, they would be as willing to embrace further light, as that which they first received." (John Fletcher's History of Independency, Vol 3, page 69.)
Robinson’s challenge for the Pilgrims to break with theological tradition is astounding.  Some of the radical concepts of truth and liberty which were later birthed in Colonial America and became the cornerstone of democracy owe their conception to the principles of this man. Pastor Robinson clearly saw the hazard of religious and political tradition. But are there not benefits to tradition? Yes, and that is the reason we love it. There are many wonderful, legitimate expressions of tradition. It can be very beautiful. Tradition is familiar, comfortable, predictable. Because of that, religious tradition usually pushes itself deeper into places where it does not belong. Tradition, like habit, removes the necessity of decision-making. Making decisions requires mental energy; life is simpler if we do things by predetermined routine. At the same time: Tradition can only turn its eyes on the past. If it looks to the future, it ceases to be tradition.
The full Kingdom-message of the Holy Spirit’s miracles, signs, and wonders, is desperately needed by the modern church. Religious tradition has stripped us of  their benefit. Those power-enduing parts of Scripture have been emasculated and demoted to nothingness in many modern pulpits. (Mark 16:17,18, Acts 1:8. I Corinthians 12-14.) Something really  is lost “behind the ranges! Go and find! Go and find!” The discovery awaiting you is phenomenal. Matthew 15:3. Mark 7:3. Colossians 2:8. I Peter 1:18.

March 17, 2016

The attitude of many Christians toward us who believe that I Corinthians 12-14 is still valid and the miraculous works of the Holy Spirit are still present is: "You crazy Charismatics! You get excited, sing too fast, clap you hands, jump up and down, move people into a frenzy–then tell the sick ones they are healed! Like fools, they believe you, two days later the pain comes back! Disappointed, they blame God. You’re a bunch of stupid phonies! You ought to be put in jail!!"
If you don’t believe that attitude exists you may verify it online. We have lots of critics who enjoy showing their anger publically. You will find fierce accusations against us who believe what Jesus said: "You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you." Acts 1:8. We are regarded as charlatans and fools. Here’s the problem for my own accusers:  After a Spirit-filled prisoner in the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary "laid-hands" on me and I was filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 9:17,18) I saw more people changed by the power of God than I had in all my previous twenty-seven years as a pastor. Since that momentous day in 1977, I have witnessed men and women from all walks of life be transformed physically, spiritually, emotionally, by an encounter with the Holy Spirit. Some were medical doctors, college professors, pastors, street people, airline pilots, famous athletes, skilled professionals, children, and the elderly. These occurred everywhere the Lord sent me: From Africa to Argentina, England to Equador, Kazakhstan to Kentucky, South America to South Carolina, people’s lives were radically changed by the power of God. Another fact critics need to know:  Worldwide, eight-five percent of all Christian conversions are being done by full-gospel believing preachers. Want an example?
A hundred years ago the Catholic Church owned Central and South America; there was less than 50,000 evangelical believers in both areas. Today there are more than 100,000,000 charismatic/Pentecostal disciples in those same places. The big change came in the early 1950's when a little-known American evangelist, Tommy Hicks, preached in Argentina and the Holy Spirit fell with incredible healing power. The President of Argentina, Juan Peron, was the first to be healed and began that phenomenal move of God. Almost forty years ago I preached in Argentina and talked with people who were present at Tommy's revival. One pastor for whom I preached, Omar Cabrerra, was  fruit of Tommy's visit; one of his congregations had more than 100,000 members.  And there were many other churches like this pastsor's.  Recently, here in the U.S., I was with Randy Clark whose ministry in Brazil is witnessing radical healings and thousands of conversions.
My reason for telling all that is this:  I recently received a letter from a woman, Rose Smith, who was dramatically healed in one of my meetings more than twenty years ago at Christ Chapel, Florence, Alabama. First, I want you to read the one she wrote at the time she was healed. That night, the church was holding services in their school gymnasium–and it was packed to the walls. Worship had begun, I was walking toward the pulpit when the Holy Spirit stopped me in the aisle, told me to turn around and look toward the left. He then pointed-out a woman I had never seen before. I learned later that her name was Rose Smith. From this point I will let her tell the story as she wrote it:
"Pastor Carrin, Let me tell you about the awesome and powerful way God touched me in a service you held at Christ Chapel in the summer of 1993. I had only known Jesus for a few months and had never been in a meeting where the Holy Spirit moved with signs and wonders. I had never been knocked to the floor by the power of God, and I simply did not believe in such things. The year before, three discs in my neck were ruptured and my arm became numb. X-rays and an MRI not only confirmed the ruptured discs but also showed that the nerve which went to my right arm had been deprived of blood so long it was now dead. The doctor explained even surgery would not help, and in time, probably the arm would atrophy. The pain in my back was constant and there was very little feeling left in my fingertips. I could not even pick up my Bible or open doors with my right hand.
"Then one night when you came down the aisle toward the pulpit, you stopped at the row where I was standing, and pointed at me. You had an usher bring me out. I was frightened and determined I was not going to fall. But when you touched my shoulders I felt a power, a force, an energy, like I had never come in contact with before, and I fell. You said, simply "She's Yours, Holy Spirit." I couldn't believe this was happening to me. I wondered, could this possibly be God? Then, I sensed a small, quiet "feeling" deep within me urging me not to move. But, I thought, "There is no way I am going to lie here and be humiliated." So I got up and went back to my seat. Within a minute you came back and pointed to me again. When I stepped out you said with an urgency: "Now, please! Receive everything God has for you!"
"And again I was on the floor. This time I knew it was God, and His power was on me. As I lay there, I humbled myself and asked Him to forgive me for getting up before. I told Him I would lie there as long as He wanted me to, and that I wanted all He had for me. Then I felt a surge of power moving in my body. It was like velvet-covered electrical currents. It moved down my spine to the very end, then came back up again. Next, it went down my right arm and back up. It did this over and over again. I don't know how long I lay with the hand of God touching deep inside my body. But I was so filled with joy because now I knew God is not only alive but He still touches and talks to us today.
It wasn't until I got home that I discovered I was healed. Totally. "That horrible, agonizing pain has never returned to my neck or back. I have written this entire letter with my right hand! My right arm continues to work perfectly. I give all praise and glory to Jesus! He has made me whole! He has set my feet upon the solid Rock. Glory, Honor, and Power to His holy Name!" -Rose Smith,.
I want to add to Rose’s testimony by repeating what the daughter told me happened when they got home. The two sat together in the kitchen as the daughter plied Rose with questions about the experience. Suddenly, the daughter leaped to her feet, opened the refrigerator and took out an a full gallon of milk. "Take this!," she said thrusting it at her mother. Rose reluctantly obeyed, wondering why such strange behavior, but took the gallon in her left hand. Snatching it back, the daughter said, "No!, mama, take it with your right hand!" Rose obeyed, taking the heavy gallon she began swinging it over her head. She was healed. Totally.
In the first half of my ministry, such a letter would have been impossible. Today, it is only one of many that testify to the healing power of Jesus. Though I regard myself as an ordinary minister with few special talents, there is no way I can deny the number of people whose lives have been radically changed by the Holy Spirit. It has happened! And it has been He, the Holy Spirit, not me. But there is more to tell: This week, twenty-three years later, I heard from Rose again. She writes:
"Dear Charles ... I am sure you won’t remember me but my life was radically changed through your ministry and God’s touch. I am so thankful that He sent you to Florence, Alabama. He used you to minister healing to my body and to show me a love like I had never known. I think of you often. I am still walking with God and He continues to talk to me, to guide me and to show me His amazing love. Thank you, Charles, for your obedience to God and for being such a beautiful example of the love of Jesus! In His love, Rose Smith"  Rose has numerous friends and family members who knew the hopelessness of her condition the night she came to the meeting.  Instead of becoming an invalid, dependent on others, Rose has lived a normal, self-sufficient life.  Thank God!
Acts 8:14-17: Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit." This is what happened to me when the prisoner laid hands on me, quoting Ananias’ words to Saul.
Acts 19:1-7. And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples he said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" So they said to him,"We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit." And he said to them, "Into what then were you baptized?" So they said,"Into John's baptism." Then Paul said,"John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus." When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied."
1 Timothy 4:14. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.
2 Timothy 1:6-7. "Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
Acts 28:8-10. "And it happened that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and dysentery. Paul went in to him and prayed, and he laid his hands on him and healed him. So when this was done, the rest of those on the island who had diseases also came and were healed."
At a different church in Birmingham, Alabama, I was doing "hands-on" ministry to people at the close of the service when my eye kept being drawn to a couple sitting in the rear of the building. They showed no interest in coming forward for prayer. Even so, I kept getting the Holy Spirit’s urging to go to them. When I had a moment I went to them, signaled each to step to the aisle. As I laid hands on the wife she was instantly down on the floor, under the power. Her husband followed in the same way. I later learned about their family tragedy–which I will let the wife tell in a brief note she later wrote:
Dear Pastor Carrin, Your ministry has changed my husband’s and my life. We lost our 4 year old daughter in a boating accident. We were Christians but knew nothing of the deeper workings and the healing power of the Holy Spirit. We were both very depressed and angry at God. When you *ministered to us we were "slain in the spirit" for the first time. The Holy Spirit began a healing work in us that has given us a reason to live and to worship His Holy Name. A hunger for more of God began in us that summer night--and praise God--the hunger has never been satisfied!! Since that time, we have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit operates in our lives. Thank you for giving your life to the ministry of people who are hurting; hopefully my husband and I will have the opportunity to give to others as you have given of yourself. GOD BLESS YOU! Susan Archer, Birmingham, Alabama *hands-on
Here is another testimony you need to hear: "My twenty year old son was killed by a drunk driver. I had so much anger against God for taking my son that I suffered from depression, guilt, and anger. Eighteen months later my husband took my adopted child and walked out on me. Then I was really angry. I left home one night to commit suicide, and I though why not give God one more chance. I did! I started going to church that following Sunday and the next Sunday my life got turned around. The next Sunday my daughter was saved. During the Holy Spirit Conference, Brother Charles Carrin *prayed for me and I was delivered from dependence on prescribed medication. There is nothing like the power of God and the Holy Spirit! I thank God for delivering me from depression, fear, and medication."
Now that you have read these scriptures and testimony letters--you can better understand my gratefulness for the Holy Spirit’s opening my heart to believe the full New Testament message. He brought me into harmony with Himself and made my ministry of value and significance to the hurting. In explaining to others why I believe in the baptism and gifts of the Holy Spirit, I tell them, "I see lives changed, bodies healed, homes saved, children rescued. What better reason do I need?" I would never go back to my former ministry in which I was powerless to help these people. The baptism in the Holy Spirit, without question, is the greatest blessing my life and ministry ever received. My advice to you is, quit arguing with God and get it! You will be glad you did. Today, I am in my 67th year of Ordained ministry and daily become a more committed believer in the power of "hands-on" ministry; I can never go back to days of preaching "powerless persuasion". Best of all, in my meetings today, I see God’s eagerness to minister through everyone who will believe the truth and apply it to their lives. My word to you is: Be a learner! Not a scorner!  Am I a "crazy charismatic?"  Yes, thank God!  I not only believe First Corinthians 12-14 is valid but at some point have witnessed all nine of these wonderful gifts of the Holy Spirit in operation!

The Arguement Against The Gift Of Tongues.

February 17, 2016
"Whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away ..." I Corinthians 13:8-10.

Those who oppose gifts of the Spirit frequently quote the passage above to defend their position. Though an invalid claim, it is their only defense. The assumption is, "That which is perfect", is a reference to the completed New Testament and that tongues were removed when the canon was complete. I find great conflict in believing that Paul's Corinthian letter was written by inspiration of the Holy Spirit"( I Peter 1:21) but when ‘the Bible was perfected’--completed--those ‘perfect’ writings about prophecy, tongues, knowledge, became imperfect. My question is this: How can the Bible qualify to being 'that which is perfect' if it contains passages which are erroneous and unsafe for us to believe? If this claim be so–that perfect Bible writings became imperfect when "that which is perfect had come"--we have a crisis that throws us completely out of authentic theology and into irrationality.
The key is the word "then"–which is used three times in the text–and in all three instances referring to the same future date. Observe the times it appears: "When that which is perfect has come, Then that which is in part will be done away ... For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but Then face to face. Now I know in part, but Then I shall know just as I also am known." I Corinthians 13:10,12. All three times the word 'then' appears, it points to the same future perfection. Question: Have we come to the time when we no longer ‘see in a mirror, dimly,’ "but 'face to face'?. No. Have we come to the time when we no longer know 'in part' but 'as I also am known'? No, Then we have not yet come to the time when 'that which is perfect has come'. Thankfully, knowledge has not yet vanished away.
The Following Scriptures Speak Of The Holy Spirit’s "Gifts". Which Ones Are You Willing To Discard?
Acts 2:38. Then Peter said to them,"Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 8:20. 20 But Peter said to him, "Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!
Acts 10:45. And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
Acts 11:17. If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?"
Romans 1:11. For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established —
Romans 5:15. But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.
Romans 5:16. And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification.
Romans 5:17. For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)
Romans 5:18. Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even. So through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
Romans 6:23. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 Corinthians 1:7. So that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,
1 Corinthians 7:7. For I wish that all men were even as I myself. But each one has his own gift from God, one in this manner and another in that.
1 Corinthians 13:2. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
2 Corinthians 9:15. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
Ephesians 2:8. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, Ephesians 3:7. Of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.
Ephesians 4:7. But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift.
Philippians 4:17. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.
1 Timothy 4:14. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.
2 Timothy 1:6. Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
Hebrews 6:4. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit.
James 1:17. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
My final word is this: "As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." 1 Peter 4:10. As a conscientious Christian, you want to serve God and His people by allowing the free demonstration of His gifts in you. Being religious is not what He seeks from you. He wants genuine spirituality to be the hallmark of your life. That can only happen when His gifts are free to glorify Jesus through you. Do it!

The Apostle Paul encountered Jesus on the Damascus Road and was born again; three days later in the Damascus Room through the laying-on-of-hands by Ananias. he encountered the Holy Spirit and received the Spirit's baptism. Later, this same man wrote an 84 verse treatise on spiritual gifts. I Corinthians 12,13,14. His Biblical explanation provides the most comprehensive, authoritative information we have on the subject. More importantly, It is the only resource bearing the seal of Divine Authorship. All conflicting opinions, no matter how cherished or long-established, are but human speculation and must be discarded. Scripture is our final, absolute authority.
The Apostle begins his dissertation with the plea: "Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant." 12:1. Interestingly, this appeal that we "not be ignorant" appears seven times in the New Testament concerning different topics. Once, it is by Peter and six times by Paul. Each time, the request reveals an especially deep concern of the writer. Its’ appearance here should command the attention of every conscientious believer. The Apostle then proceeds carefully to detail the operation of nine grace-works of the Spirit. These are the direct result of the Spirit's baptism. Having defended the need and purpose of the gifts, Paul then concludes his discourse with the stirring rebuke, "But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant!" 14:38. In other words, he says, "After this careful explanation of spiritual gifts, if anyone refuses to learn, I have nothing more to say to him. Let him remain illiterate!" Paul seemingly anticipated that some believers would reject his teaching on miraculous works of the Spirit and added this harsh warning:
"If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord." I Corinthians 14:37.
What are the "commandments" of which he speaks? The answer: The Apostolic teachings on spiritual gifts. I Corinthians 12 and 14 speak with God's authority as much as any other of Paul's writings. We are no more at liberty to reject these Biblically mandated instructions than any other commandment of the Lord. Until recent years, there was probably no other subject about which the Church was more ignorant than that of spiritual gifts. Instead of heeding Paul's instruction, the modern Church has engaged in open warfare against them. This was done in spite of Paul's exhortation that we:
1. "Earnestly desire spiritual gifts." I Corinthians 12:31.
2. "Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy." 14:1.
3. "Since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel." 14:12.
These admonitions do not indicate the reluctance that typifies the modern church's attitude against spiritual gifts. There was no such lukewarmness on the part of Paul or the Corinthians. Identically, believers today are encouraged to exercise the gifts for the benefit of everyone: "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all; for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills ... But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant." I Corinthians 12:1;4-11;38.
The argument immediately arises, "These gifts passed away. They are no longer valid." Paul did not believe that. Nor does the New Testament teach it. In the introduction of his Corinthian letters (29 chapters and longest of all New Testament writings) Paul exhorted believers to " ... Come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ." I Corinthians 1:7. In that brief statement, Paul equated the duration of spiritual gifts to be the same length as the Church's waiting for Jesus' return. Examine it for yourself. This is precisely what the Apostle said There is probably no greater ignorance in the Church today than of spiritual gifts and Jesus' offer of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. You may ask, "Why do I need the baptism in the Spirit and the imparting of spiritual gifts?" Here are a few of the many reasons:
1. Jesus said you needed it.
2. Without it, you are an incomplete disciple.
3. Good as you presently are, you will be better with it.
4. You need to be moved out of "soulish" effort into spiritual effort.
5. The baptism in the Spirit releases power in your life which can be had no other way.
6. Once you, your family, friends, recover from the shocking, personal change the baptism brings to your life, everyone will recognize you are a better person.
7. The Bible teaches it. Early Christians depended on it. History confirms it.
On the Day of Ascension, Jesus told the disciples at the Mount of Olives, "John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now ... You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you." Acts 1:5,6. In a single statement, Jesus connected baptism in the Spirit to the imparting of His power. That wonderful event occurred on the day of Pentecost when 120 disciples in the Upper Room received the blessing. Scripture carefully explains that others who were not present at Pentecost experienced the same empowering later. That included the Samaritans, Acts 8:14-17, Saul of Tarsus, Acts 9:17, the household of Cornelius, Acts 10:44, and the Ephesians, Acts 19:1-7. Young Timothy followed the example. II Timothy 1:6. Identically, today, multiplied millions around the world have stepped into the Spirit's wondrous baptism.
We are told seven times in the New Testament to "be no ignorant." The same Greek word for "ignorance," agnoeo, is used in all seven references though the King James version is probably the only one that translates it consistently. If you listen carefully you can detect the similarity between agnoeo and ignore. (agno/igno). It simply means "not to know;" that ignorance can come from lack of information, inadequate intelligence, or willful rejection of truths. These seven topics are fundamental to the Church. Notice they are in pairs. Two concern Israel, two concern the gospel, two foretell the end of the earth,, and the final topic, # 7, the Church's spiritual gifts. Sincere Christians cannot deny the value of any. In all probability there is no one topic about which Christianity at large is more ignorant than spiritual gifts. Quoting from the King James Version, the seven are:
1. Israel's rejection and restoration; Gentile fullness: "For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits, that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in." Romans 11:25.
2. Israel's dual baptism in the cloud and sea: "Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea." I Corinthians 10:1. Israel's baptism unto Moses in the cloud and sea portrays Christian baptism unto Christ in the Spirit and water. The parallel is exact.
3. Opposition to the gospel in Asia: "For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life." II Corinthians 1:8. Types of opposition which Paul experienced:
A. Physical infirmity. Galatians 4:13-15.
B. Stoning, shipwreck. II Corinthians 11:23-28.
C. "Contemptible speech." II Cororinthians 10:10.
D. "Thorn in the flesh." II Corinthians 12:7.
E. "Weakness, fear," etc. I Corinthians 2:3.
F. Persecutions. II Timothy 3:11.
G. Apostolic division. Acts 15:36-40.
4. Opposition to the Gospel in Europe: "Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you (but was let hitherto), that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles." Romans 1:13. Reasons for the opposition:
A. To prevent Paul's impartation of spiritual gifts. 1:11.
B. To handicap the gospel’s bringing salvation". 1:16.
C. To stop believers from living "by faith." 1:17
5. Jesus' Second Coming; Resurrection of the saints: "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope." I Thessalonians 4:13.
6. The "thief in the night" destruction of the earth: "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day ... But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night ..." II Peter 3:8,10.
II Peter 3:3-5. "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water."
7. The Holy Spirit's miraculous gifts to the Church: "Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant." I Corinthians 12:1.
The New Testament contains six passages in which gifts of the Spirit are identified. Since the New Testament is a Covenant, not merely a book–inalterably ratified by the sprinkling of the blood of Christ--not of bulls and goats, all these gifts are still active; none have been removed. Hebrews 9:19-26.
1. 1 Corinthians 12:8-12: "For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills."
2. 1 Corinthians 12:28. "And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues."
3. Romans 12:6-9. "Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness."
4. Ephesians 4:11-12. "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers..."
5. 1 Corinthians 7:7. "For I wish that all men were even as I myself (unmarried). But each one has his own *gift from God, one in this manner and another in that. 1 Corinthians 7:7. *chárisma ek Theoú
6. 1 Peter 4:9-12. "Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen."
Hospitality 1, 21. Speaking. 1, 22. Chastity. 1
It is probable that "speaking" and "exhortation" are the same gift; so also with "giving" and "hospitality." There is a blurring of distinction between others. While prophecy is mentioned four times, teaching three times, and the other gifts a lessor number, we are expected to believe all of them without challenge. If the Bible says something one time only we are to believe it without question.

If we grieve the Holy Spirit He may become silent, imperceptible to us, and we will find ourselves seemingly abandoned to a frustrated and unspiritual state. It was in the apparent fear of this condition that David cried out, "Take not your Holy Spirit from me!" The scores of apathetic and unmotivated Christians attest to this fact. It is possible to be born-again and yet be in a spiritually-lifeless condition. Such Christians and Churches frequently resort to "religious" behavior to compensate for the loss of their true spirituality.  The Holy Spirit can be:

1. Grieved: Ephesians 4:30-32. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

2. Resisted: Acts 7:51-52. You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you.

3. Quenched: 1 Thessalonians 5:19-23. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.

4. Rebelled against: Isaiah 63:10. But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; So He turned Himself against them as an enemy, And He fought against them.

5. Rejected: Hebrews 3:7-9. Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness, Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, And saw My works forty years.

6. Striven With: Genesis 6:3-4. And the Lord said,"My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years."

After studying these scriptures, prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to tell you the ways in which you have grieved, resisted, quenched, rebelled against, rejected, and striven with Him. If you are sincere in your request, He will tell you. Write His reply in detail and study it. In this case, as in all others where you are seeking guidance and instruction, the internal answer you receive should be put to the test of Scripture, i.e: Command the "voice" speaking to you to acknowledge that "Jesus Christ has come in the flesh" or get out of your mind. I John 4:2,3. The Holy Spirit will not be insulted by your request; it is He who commanded the procedure as a safe-guard against your being deceived. Do it! Examine your list carefully. Humble yourself before the Holy Spirit’s rebuke and repent of your sin. If left unconfessed, any unrepented sin will "insulate" you from His companionship and obstruct the release of His power through you. It is too high a price to pay.

Years ago I had the blessing to meet and build a relationship with two outstanding Christians, Joe and Bettina King, he, an American by birth, and she, German. Now in retirement years they spend their time in two locations, Signal Mountain, Tennessee, and Stuart, Florida. Joe is 99 years old and Bettina is still active in her Christian witness. She lived in London during the WW2 Nazi bombing and writes about three internationally famous Christian pastors whom she personally knew. Bettina further challenges today’s church to reclaim its lost place of influence. She writes, "I have personally known these three Christian leaders who influenced me profoundly and am taking the liberty to express the outstanding qualities I saw in each:

Dr. Francis Schaeffer, under whom I worked for a year. He refused endorsement from any denomination because he was determined to pursue the ministry God had called him to without being controlled by institutions or individuals--Christians included. He trusted God for his needs. Every Monday morning the staff met for prayer and asked the Lord to meet the needs for that particular week. He did not fail us. When there were particular needs, Dr. Schaeffer called for a day of fasting and prayer. Students and staff dispersed into the lovely country side alone (Switzerland) to search their hearts, to pray and read the Word. The answers came as the community repented. It was a great faith-builder for me to know that if God ordains a ministry, He will also take care of it. Dr. Schaeffer boldly proclaimed TRUTH in the face of much criticism, especially from the American Church. But trusting the Lord, he bravely plowed the barren land of a deteriorating culture in relation to the teaching of Christ--always promoting the Word of God as the only answer. He never compromised nor deviated from the ministry God called him to. I am a witness to his integrity and the godly life he lived before those in his care. He was not a perfect man but he quickly sought the Lord when something was amiss.

Dr. John Stott tackled the Church of England and suffered persecution and ridicule as he put Evangelical Christianity on the map. The Church of England made every attempt to taint his character. I was among the young body of Christians (young in age and in faith) who were blessed to sit at his feet, then go back into our schools, universities, or work places, to witness to the life of Jesus. We were not perfect, but aflame for our Lord. We started with some 500 young professionals who met in individual homes for Bible study. These young professionals shared apartments during the work week, then went home on weekends, where their lukewarm parents, who attended lukewarm or dead churches were astonished to see the passion for Christ in their children. It was a time where I witnessed much fruit in the London business sector. Dr. Stott's ministry had a tremendous impact on London and all England; those who followed became complacent and dropped the ball. At the end of his phenomenal ministry, Dr. Stott retired into a one bedroom apartment so that the bulk of the funds from the sale of his books and tapes could be used to help train ministers around the world.

Dr. Martyn-Lloyd Jones had a very large following at Westminster Chapel in London. He taught the Book of Romans for two solid years and there was standing-room only! His teaching the truth of God’s Word attracted many who were tired of hearing lame messages in their churches. The result, the witness of Christians living Christ-like lives in all areas of society, was felt throughout London! He also taught a simple form of prayer based on faith in a faithful God. As the German Luftwaffe was bombing London and other cities, people ran to church to pray for peace. Then, they ran to church to thank God for peace. Dr. Lloyd-Jones said in one of his messages that we should not expect God to grant peace when we have no intention of changing our life style to one of repentant obedience to Almighty God. He had 45 minutes of corporate prayer either before the morning service or before the evening

As far as I am concerned, I am tired of establishment-politicians making promises they don’t keep. And while we can not expect anything good from this Administration, I am disappointed in the lack of Congressional leadership as well. While Satan wreaks havoc in our society, where are the Christians who faithfully pray that the Lord would change them so that their lives would affect those around them? Where are the churches that hold weekly prayer meetings, who combine these prayer meetings with other Bible-believing churches? How many Christians understand the Book of Revelation? Where are the pastors to teach on the subject? Most of us do not know about the weapons Jesus has put into our hands to fight the enemy, particularly in the area of deception? And, yes, I know, that the times will get darker yet. But is this not the time for the Body of Christ to revert to the essentials and put up a fight – regardless of the cost? As I experienced personally, it starts with one man or woman determined to obey the Lord, to come out of hiding and tackle whatever issue He puts before them.

For reading I recommend Agents of the Apocalypse by Dr. David Jeremiah.

Revival Falls on a Lonely Scottish Island

January 7, 2016

One of the great visitations of the Holy Spirit in the past hundred years occurred in the 1950s on the extreme northern coast of Scotland under the preaching of Duncan Campbell. Though its effect was confined to a small area in the Hebrides Islands, the power that exploded upon the island of Berneray was identical to that of the Book of Acts. Wonderfully, that move of God began in a barn with a man named Hector McKennon sprawled out in the straw praying.

There were only two churches on the island of Berneray, and both had been closed for years. The last pastor died. Others quit coming. Hector was the only remaining elder. The church deaths came about because passion for Jesus had been replaced with doctrines about Jesus. Finally, people lost interest in doctrine. Seemingly, Hector was the only one determined to bring spiritual life back to the island's desolation. His wife told of the memorable day he locked himself in the barn, refusing to come out, until heaven answered. Several times she walked to the door, heard her husband thrashing about, groaning before the Lord, "I don't know where he is, Lord, but You do!" She heard him plead, "Send Duncan Campbell to Berneray! Send Duncan Campbell to Berneray!"

Duncan was one of the great spiritual forces in the British Isles. He too was a Gaelic-speaking Highlander who came to the Lord in a phenomenal conversion before the first World War. That conversion had been accompanied by a powerful anointing of the Holy Spirit. Later, on a French battlefield of the war, Duncan lay severely wounded in the path of a cavalry charge, and he was trampled by the horses. Finally rescued, he was taken to a field hospital for surgery. The pain was incredible. On the operating table, the prayer he shouted in Gaelic was not for healing but for holiness: "Lord, make me as holy as a saved sinner can be! Make me as holy as a saved sinner can be!" Though his Scottish tongue was not understood by a single person in the tent, the cry brought such power of God upon him that seven men were saved.

Through the years, the anointing intensified as God "confirmed His word with signs following." Duncan hungered for heaven and once during crisis sought a greater empowering of the Holy Spirit. Of the event, he said, "As I lay there, God, the Holy Ghost, came upon me. Wave after wave came rolling over me until the love of God swept through me like a mighty river! ... I was so wrought upon by the Holy Ghost that I cried-and I laughed-and I prayed."

Hector McKennon's heart grieved for Berneray to experience the ministry of Duncan Campbell. As the day passed, Hector continued praying. Three times his wife went to the door listening

At ten o'clock that night, hundreds of miles away, Duncan Campbell sat on the platform of England's largest Christian gathering, the Bangor Convention. He was to be the final speaker. At precisely ten o’clock two amazing things happened: Duncan heard the voice of his Friend, the Holy Spirit, tell him to leave the convention. "Leave now." The message was surprising; in a sense, troubling. He thought the Holy Spirit had wanted him at the convention. At the same moment Hector came running out of the barn yelling, "He's coming! He's coming! God said he's coming. He'll be here tomorrow night!"

Duncan learned early in his Christian walk not to strive with the Holy Spirit--but he needed to be certain. Without others knowing what was happening, he prayed for confirmation. When the answer came, he turned abruptly to the convention's chairman, "I have to leave," he explained. "God is sending me to the Island of Berneray."

Over protest, Duncan flew to Glasgow, took the train to Stornoway, and finally traveled by car to the ferry. Arriving at Berneray the next day, uninvited and unannounced, he stopped a boy, asked about the churches, learned the name of the island's only elder, and said, "Go tell Hector McKennon that Duncan Campbell has arrived." A short time later the boy hurried back saying, "Elder McKennon was expecting you today and has arranged for you to stay with his brother. He has called a meeting at the church at nine o'clock tonight and you are to address it."

Duncan knew he had correctly heard his heavenly Friend-even though nothing significant happened in the evening service. At 11:00 that night the congregation spilled out of the church and starting walked downhill in the moonlight to their homes. Suddenly, Hector jerked Duncan's arm, snatched off his hat, and said, "Stand, Mr. Campbell. God has come! God has come! See what is happening!" Duncan looked at the scene on the hill below them. The wind of God was blowing upon the people, scattering them like leaves among the heather. They were falling under the power of the Holy Spirit, wailing, crying to God. The old, the young, men and women, dropped on that bleak hillside and remained there until four o'clock in the morning. Their repentance and grief over sin groaned out of them into the cold North Sea air. Other islanders who had not attended the service became worried about the delay and came looking for loved ones. They found them weeping in the heather, were themselves overcome by the Spirit's presence and joined them among the rocks. God had come to the Hebrides. That was the beginning.

A few nights later a group met to pray in an old farm house in another village where the people were still unrepentant. God's power had not fallen on them. It was after midnight when a man suddenly sprang to the center of the room, raised his hand, and called loudly to God, Instantly, according to Duncan, "The stone farm house shook like a leaf" as the power of God slammed upon the village. Everyone at the prayer meeting ran out into the night, looking around; all the houses within sight had lights coming on-the entire village had been suddenly awakened. Duncan hurried to the nearest dwelling, went in the back door and found husband and wife face-down on the kitchen floor, seeking the Lord. At the next house, he saw the same. And again, at the next. Revival had fallen upon the town.

The power of God quickly fell upon other villages until the area was ablaze with holy fire. This was true New Testament revival. Even the shaking of the building paralleled two events in the Book of Acts-Acts 4:31 and 16:26. More importantly, the people were changed (Acts 2:37). Why had it happened? Hector McKennon was a man of unrelenting prayer; Duncan Campbell was a man of unrelenting obedience. Hector pulled the power out of heaven and down upon his island. Duncan was the window through which the power roared. Their combination was unstoppable. Both stood, feet on earth, faces in heaven. Revival!

What happened in the Hebrides is the kind of revival for which the church in our day must pray! Anything less is insufficient. Good as our "church meetings" are, most are only "feathers in the wind". We need New Testament, Book of Acts, outpourings of the Holy Spirit. Our church pews would not be vacant, altar calls would not be empty if we dared pray with the authority of this Scottish man who seized heaven and shook hell. We need sovereign, sinner-quaking, city-shaking revival! You can become that Hector or Duncan for your church and town. All God seeks is a willing heart. He does not want your ability; He wants only your availability.

December 11, 2015
Periodically, I re-publish this amazing story about Bruce Olson because I consider him to be the greatest Christian missionary in modern history. I met Bruce when Stephen Strang, publisher of Charisma books and magazines, invited me to the Board Meeting of Christian Life Missions in Chicago and the surprise 90th birthday celebration for our mutual friend Robert Walker–now deceased. Bob Walker was the founding editor of Christian Life Magazine, now part of Charisma, an original member of Pat Robertson’s CBN Board and a guiding influence in the early years of Tyndall House Publishing Company. It was Bob who became excited about my book, The Edge Of Glory, and ushered it through to completion. At his birthday party, I unexpectedly met "Bruchko" and in a few minutes time this quiet, unassuming man had changed my life forever. I now want everyone else to know about him.

Many Americans know Bruchko only as the missionary captured by Communist guerillas in Columbia, South America, held hostage and tortured nearly a year. During that time, his hands were tied to a tree behind his back, he was plagued with hunger, dysentery, exposed to blood-thirsty mosquitoes, drenched in rain, and burned by the sun. His faith in Jesus never wavered. The guerillas wanted him to join their cause, rally the Indians behind them, and help overthrow the government. He refused. Finally, they stood him before a firing squad. They fired. He remained standing. The bullets had been blanks. That mock killing had been their ultimate, desperate attempt to make him yield. It failed. His capture brought such an international outcry that he was released. But when he finally walked away, more than 60 of his captors--including the leader---had accepted Christ and dropped their guns.
But there is much more to his story than that. And "Bruchko" is his Indian name. To others, he is Bruce Olsson, a tall, blonde American of Norwegian descent, who, in 1959, as a nineteen year old, walked out of the snow of Minnesota into the interior of South American jungles.
When God spoke to his heart, calling him to give his life to the stone-age Motilone Indians, he packed and went. His wealthy Lutheran parents were furious. They accused his "holy roller" church of their son’s mental-abduction. His father even locked him out of the family home in sub-zero temperature one winter night, forcing him to walk more than a mile to another house for protection. Going to South America was absurd! A scholar, Bruce was already fluent in Hebrew, Greek, Latin, Sanskrit, and a total of 17 languages. His parents’ plan was that he become a language professor in an ivy-league University. The Motilones had murdered every person--white or other tribal Indian--who came into their territory. No stranger entered their domain and lived. In spite of his parent’s screaming, he went anyway.
Bruce had no training, no financial support, no knowledge of the languages he needed, and when he arrived in Caracas, no one met him. Missionaries who earlier promised help had changed their minds. They disapproved of his lack of denominational credentials. He was abandoned. Alone and penniless, he wandered the streets, thinking of his parents’ fierce opposition to his mission and the failure they had prophesied on his work.
But, in South America as in Minnesota, Bruce had the presence of the Holy Spirit hovering over him. That presence would not turn loose. It would not go away. He had no choice but to be obedient to its call.
Several years after his arrival in South America, Bruce finally crossed the towering Andes Mountains alone, on foot, forded violent jungle rivers, and arrived in Motilone territory. That significant day, the one for which he had prayed, sacrificed, struggled, and which he believed God had ordained, came with terrifying pain. The Motilones shot him with an arrow. Writhing in agony, he fell to the jungle floor with the shaft buried in his leg and found himself surrounded by naked, fierce-looking warriors, with bows aimed at him. One of them finally approached and jerked the arrow out backward, tearing his muscle and flesh on its barbs. Grabbing him up, they forced him into a three-hour mountain-climb to their village. Here, they dropped him before their drunken Chief. Another battle followed and more arrows tore into his flesh. Tied and imprisoned alone in the hut, he went for days without food. When it came, and he ate, it was a bundle of five-inch long, live grub-worms. The next moment, he vomited them up.
With that reception, Bruce had finally arrived at God’s destination. Strangely, the Motilones let him live and begrudgingly accepted him into the village. He was the first. No one else had ever entered their society and survived. Once when oil company engineers went into their part of the jungle they were killed solely that Motilones could use their helmets for cook pots. The vermin, filth, unspeakably bad sanitary conditions in the villages at times overwhelmed Bruce. At that point, he could hardly have imagined that for the next 40 years he would voluntarily live as a Motilone, learning their ways, speaking their language, and slowly bringing them--and surrounding tribes--to a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ.
In time, Bruce learned surprising things about the Motilones. Buried in their strange theology, they believed that in the remote past, a false prophet had deceived their tribe and God had departed from them. Because of God’s departure, they were subject to demons and darkness. But they also believed that someday One would come who would take them to "the trail that led to the horizon." That expression, "the trail that led to the horizon" was their way of expressing hope in finding the approach back to God. Even the witch doctor talked about it. To jungle people, "trails" were very important. More than anything else, they wanted to find that most important, lost trail leading to the sky. Surrounded by high mountains and thick rainforest, these people had never even seen the horizon. Yet, they knew somewhere in the far distance it was there. But they didn’t know how to find the trail that led to it.
In their innocent, naive way, they also told Bruce that someday God would come to them from a banana tree. Apparently, someone in the past had "seen" this strange banana stalk--or what looked like it. They were absolutely convinced they were right. To Bruce, the legend made no sense at all. Once, when traveling through the jungle, Bruce came upon two men, howling in grieving anguish. Their wailing was frantic. One was in a tree, the other, who had dug a deep hole in the ground, was yelling into it, trying to get his dead brother to respond. The brother, Bruce learned, had died out of Motilone territory and now his spirit could not return. When the men failed to retrieve the lost spirit, they dropped to the ground in total despair. It was because "they had been deceived by the false prophet." The false prophet was the explanation for all their problems.
God had departed. As they talked, one of the younger men in a moment of frustration chopped a small section out of a nearby banana plant and tossed it on the ground in front of them. Banana trees are very soft, layered like an onion, and usually filled with water. Once cut, the layers separate easily. A moment later, the one with the machete hit the banana section lengthwise and it fell apart. When it opened, the layers in the banana trunk separated like pages in a book. For a moment they all stared at it. Suddenly, truth broke through! Bruce grabbed his Bible and held it open beside the banana. There was a striking similarity in the two. This was it! The Motilones had been waiting for God to come to them from a book! The Bible!
When one of the men saw the Bible and banana together the light of truth suddenly flashed into his darkness. Snatching the Bible from Bruce’s hands, he ripped pages from it, stuffed them into his mouth and frantically began eating them. He wanted the God who was in the Book to come into him! From that moment on, Bruce had an open door to speak to the Motilones about Jesus Christ. Six years after his arrival in South America, Bruce had his first convert. A young man by the name of Bobarishora, "Bobby," had a genuine, life-changing, regenerating encounter with Jesus. Bobby’s method of sharing the experience with others was that he explained his conversion in a song. His song, non-stop, to which the entire village listened intently, lasted fourteen hours. Like fire, the song quickly passed to other Indian encampments. The effect was revolutionary. They believed it and were saved. The God who had departed, had returned! It was the testimony of their own Motilone brother that led them to Christ. During Bruce Olsson’s cold winter nights in Minnesota, when he wrestled with the Holy Spirit about reaching this tribe, he knew nothing of their longing for restoration with the God they believed had departed from them. Nor could he have imagined how God would use a banana tree and a fourteen-hour song to open their hearts to the miracle of salvation.
Bruce Olsson is considered one of the great Missionaries of Christian history. He recognized the fallacy of imposing American culture on the Indians instead of integrating the gospel into their own culture.
Indians had always built round houses. Many missionaries insisted that church buildings be square. When missionaries demanded that natives dress in American style and sing American-type songs, Bruce would ask, "What did Christians do before there was a ‘western’ culture and British hymns?" Most importantly, Bruce relied on the Holy Spirit to give him wisdom and endurance in working with stone-age savages. God enabled him to see beyond their ignorance to the Godly, educated people they could become. How far is Motilone territory from civilization? Each time Bruce leaves his jungle post for civilization, he walks five days to a river. There, he cuts trees and builds a raft for another four day trip downstream. That is followed by another long hike and hopefully a pick-up by a banana truck. Even then, airports and transportation are still a long way off.
Because of his amazing work, Bruce has addressed the United Nations, the Organization of American States, numerous national agencies and universities, become the intimate friend of four Presidents of Columbia, and been recognized as a world-acclaimed authority on indigenous South American dialects. It was he who devised a Motolone alphabet, taught them how to read, and translated portions of the New Testament into their own tongue. During Bruce’s recent return to the United States and our visit in Chicago, Regent University conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree upon him. But he did not remain in the U.S. to receive the tribute. Instead, he went back home to his family and friends--back to the jungle.
In One Generation After Bruce Brought The Gospel To Stone-age Savages This Has Happened:
1. The Motilones not only made peace with the Yuko tribe, their bitter, centuries-old enemy, but evangelized them. Some 18 other tribes have been evangelized and convinced that violence is wrong. Peace--through Jesus Christ--has come to the jungle tribes.
2. There are more than fifty Motilone-Bari Health Centers in the jungle, staffed with native doctors.
3. Additionally, the Motilones operate 28 Medical Health Stations staffed by their own graduate nurses.
4. Forty-five bilingual Schools serve every age group. Forty-two Agricultural Centers staffed by Motilones teach agronomy, animal husbandry, forestry, and soil management.
5. More than 250 Motilone graduate-missionaries are actively preaching the gospel in twenty-two different Latin American tongues. Two have completed advanced theological studies in Bogota.
6. Trained Motilone lawyers successfully represent the Tribes legal needs before Colombia’s National Courts.
7. Educated Motilone Business Administrators staff eight jungle Community Cooperatives.
8. The Motilone newspaper, AsocBari, reports news about evangelism and community development from 18 different tribal fronts.
9. The daughter of Bruce’s Motilone friend, Bobarishora, and two other youths, graduated from Colombia’s National School of Pedagogy and are bilingual instructors to a host of other students.
10. Fidel Waysersera, a Motilone, has been chosen by the Northeastern Colombian tribes to represent them in the State Assembly. He is one of the first native Indians in the history of Colombia to achieve political status.
11. Roberto Descarara, a Motilone, is a graduate of the Free University in Law and the first indigenous director of the Office of Indian Affairs for the National Government in Northeast Colombia. He, with Fidel Waysersera, attended the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro as representatives of South America’s Indian Tribes. When the Summit ended they preached to other Brazilian Indians.
12. In 1999, when Colombian earthquakes left 180,000 homeless, a Motilone medical team of 4 physicians and 20 nurses gave assistance to more than 5,000 victims.
13. Through Bruce’s efforts, the Government of Columbia has permanently set aside 108,909,000 square meters of land for exclusive protection and use of the Motilone-Bari people. White settlers can no longer steal their land. All this was accomplished in the ministry of one man who refused to let others stop his fulling the call of God in his life. Family, friends, other missionaries, hardships, lack of skills, kidnappings, attempted killings, wild animals, disease, could not stop him. Finally, you may ask Bruce or any of the Motilone Tribe what brought about their great change. They will tell you, it was not the tall, blonde young man from Minnesota they tried to kill. The One who brought change was Saymaydodiji-ibateradacura --- Jesus Christ. He is the One for whom they waited and who finally showed them "the trail that led to the horizon." Discovering that Trail changed everything.

By Sebastian Vilar Rodriguez, published 1-15-2008 in a Spanish newspaper.

It doesn't take much imagination to extrapolate the message to the rest of Europe—and possibly to the rest of the world. He said:

I walked down the street in Barcelona, and suddenly discovered a terrible truth - Europe died in Auschwitz ... We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world. The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned.

And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride. They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime.

Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts. And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition. We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children others, for our children and theirs. What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe.

The Global Islamic population is approximately 1,200,000,000; that is one billion two hundred million or 20% of the world's population. They have received only seven Nobel Peace Prizes.

The Global Jewish population is approximately 14,000,000 or about 0.02% of the world's population. They have received 129 Nobel Prizes:

The Jews are not promoting brain washing children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non Muslims. The Jews don't hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics, or blow themselves up in German restaurants. There is not one single Jew who has destroyed a church. There is not a single Jew who protests by killing people. The Jews don't traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death to all the Infidels. Perhaps the world's Muslims should consider investing more in standard education and less in blaming the Jews for all their problems.

Muslims must ask 'what can they do for humankind' before they demand that humankind respects them. Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and Arab neighbors, even if you believe there is more culpability on Israel 's part, the following two sentences really say it all: "If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would  be  no  more  violence. If  the  Jews  put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel ." Benjamin Netanyahu

It  is  a  matter  of  history  that  when  the  Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces General Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead. He did this because he said in words to this effect: 'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses – because somewhere down the road of history someone will get up and say that this never happened. Recently, the UK debated whether to remove Holocaust history from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. In memory of the, 6 million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians, and 1,900 Catholic priests who were 'murdered, raped, burned, starved, beaten, experimented on and humiliated' while the German people looked the other way. Now, more than ever, with Iran , among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets. This e-mail is intended to reach 400 million people. Be a link in the memorial chain and help distribute this around the world.

How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Centre " Never Happened" because it offends some Muslim in the United States ? Pray for our country to open its eyes and see the need for change in our lives and to put our faith in GOD, not man.
