WHAT
DOES THE
“HANDWRITING
ON THE
WALL”
SAY TO
THE
NATION
AND THE
CHURCH?
Pastor
Charles,
Would
you
please
share
your
thoughts
on the
following
questions.
1. Do
you
believe
we are
in the
“end
times”
prophesied
in
Scripture?
2. Do
you
believe
the
Anti-Christ
is soon
to be
revealed?
3. What
do you
foresee
happening
to the
Church
in
America.
Thank
you! God
bless
you. — A
Reader.
Definitely!
I
believe
we are
in the
“end
times”,
the
Anti-Christ
is alive
and soon
to be
revealed,
the
Nation
and the
Church
will
shortly
experience
cataclysmic
change.
I hope I
am
wrong. I
want to
be
wrong.
But!, I
said
before
the last
Presidential
election
I feared
Americans
were
voting
in their
final
one. By
the next
Presidential
election,
November
2012, it
is
possible
the
nation
will be
under
martial
law and
elections
will be
indefinitely
postponed.
I
repeat:
I hope I
am
wrong. I
want to
be
wrong. I
pray I
am
wrong. I
love
this
nation,
it has
been my
family’s
home for
generations.
My
great-great-great-grandfather
fought
in the
1776
Revolution
and I
want the
United
States
he
helped
establish
to
continue
as “One
nation
under
God”—and
as a
democratic
republic.
But the
“handwriting
on the
wall”
tells me
there is
going to
be
political
upheaval
and
violence.
I am
informed
enough
to know
that–regardless
of the
origin
of the
strife–Christians
and
other
conservative
people
will be
blamed
for the
crisis
that
comes.
In being
blamed
we will
also be
suppressed.
The
Wall
Street
Journal
recently
published
an
article
and map
by a
Russian
political
theorist
who
predicted
Civil
War in
the
United
States
in the
year
2010.
That
chaos
would be
followed
by the
division
of
America’s
land-mass
to other
nations;
i.e.,
China,
Russia,
Europe,
Japan,
etc.
What
amazed
me was
that I
had seen
this
same map
in the
1960's
when my
wife,
Laurie,
and I,
were
active
in a
South
Florida
“Conservative
Club”.
We were
warned
that the
Council
On
Foreign
Relations,
the
Tri-Lateral
Commission,
and the
Bilderberger
organization,
had but
one
target
in mind:
The
dismantling
of the
U.S. for
a
globalist,
World
Government.
In the
last
Presidential
election
both
candidates,
Republican
and
Democrat,
were
“globalists”.
In that
capacity,
it did
not
matter
to the
Internationalists
which
candidate
won.
Their
project
seemed
assured
and they
were
capable
of
dictating
the
nation’s
future.
After
the
election,
the
media’s
leading
journalists
and T.V.
personalities
were
invited
to join
the new
President
on a
flight
out of
the
Capital.
After
becoming
airborne,
the
passengers
were
told
that the
President
was not
on the
plane.
Where
was he?!
He
stayed
behind
in
Washington
to meet
with the
leaders
of the
three
organizations
named
above.
In a
carefully
executed
ruse,
the
media
was kept
from the
President
so that
he could
meet
privately
with
non-American,
un-elected,
self-appointed,
globalist-interests.
These
are the
125
richest
people
on the
planet.
The
present
line-up
of Czars
in the
White
House
reflect
their
choice–not
that of
the
American
people
nor of
our
Congress.
After
World
War II
we
fought
Communism
long-term
on
nearly
every
front
and won.
Today,
we have
self-identified
Communists
in the
President’s
inner-circle,
advising
him on
issues
that
determine
our
future
and the
fate of
the
Nation.
I felt I
should
comment
on these
circumstance
before
proceeding
to the
questions
directly
involving
the
Church’s
future.
What I
anticipate
in the
confluence
of
Church
and
State is
this:
1. The
loss of
tax-exemption
for all
Church
property:
This
will be
based on
a
wrongly-applied
concept
of
“Separation
of
Church
and
State”.
When
Church
buildings
are
taxed on
the same
scale as
banks,
hotels,
and
other
commercial
properties,
its
financial
structure
will be
destroyed.
2. Soon
to
follow
taxation
on
Church
real
estate:
Donations
given to
Churches
will
also
lose
their
tax-exempt
status.
Congregations
will
suffer
two
strategic
ways.
They
will be
forced
to pay
tax on
their
property
while
their
donors
are
denied
tax-exempt
benefits
for the
contributions
they
give.
When
that
happens,
worshipers
will
find
themselves
on the
streets.
Denominational
Christianity
will
collapse.
The
Church
in
America
will
experience
effects
similar
to
Chinese
Christians
when the
Communists
captured
their
nation.
Millions
of
“pretended”
Christians
will
abandon
the
Church.
Once the
sword of
persecution
is
raised,
religious
phonies
will
desert
to the
enemy’s
camp and
disavow
Christ.
Jesus
spoke
about
such
people.
They are
tares
growing
among
the
wheat,
Matthew
13:25,
goats
among
the
sheep,
Matthew
25:33,
and
“virgins”
without
oil or
fire in
their
lamps,”
Matthew
25:1.
Why do I
believe
this
apostasy
will
happen?
In
endorsing
the
homosexual
lifestyle
for
their
clergy,
mainline
denominations
in
America
such as
Episcopalian,
Lutheran,
Presbyterian,
others,
have
flagrantly
told the
Lord
they do
not care
what the
Bible
says in
Romans
1:18-32.
Instead,
their
attitude
is, "We
will eat
our own
food and
wear our
own
apparel;
Only let
us be
called
by Your
name to
take
away our
reproach."
Isaiah
4:1-2.
To
these,
Jesus
says,
“Depart
from Me,
you
workers
of
iniquity,
I never
knew
you!”
Matthew
7:23.
While
the
rejection
of truth
and
godliness
is very
bad, the
good
news
from
Isaiah
is this,
“In that
(same)
day the
Branch
of the
Lord
(Jesus)
shall be
beautiful
and
glorious;
And the
fruit of
the
earth
(gospel
success)
shall be
excellent
and
appealing
for
those of
Israel
who have
escaped
(Christians
did not
take
part in
the
falling-away).”
Two
things
will
happen
simultaneously:
Worldwide
apostasy
and
world-wide
revival.
I want
to give
you a
Biblical
explanation
of how
the Holy
Spirit’s
revival
will
take
place in
an
atmosphere
of
apostasy
and
decline.
The
Bible
provides
an
illustrated
example
of this
in First
Samuel,
chapter
3.
Please
read the
entire
chapter:
"Now the
boy
Samuel
ministered
to the
Lord
before
Eli. And
the word
of the
Lord was
rare in
those
days;
there
was no
widespread
revelation.
And it
came to
pass at
that
time,
while
Eli was
lying
down in
his
place,
and when
his eyes
had
begun to
grow so
dim that
he could
not see,
and
before
the lamp
of God
went out
in the
tabernacle
of the
Lord
where
the ark
of God
was, and
while
Samuel
was
lying
down,
that the
Lord
called
Samuel.
And he
answered,
'Here I
am!' So
he ran
to Eli
and
said,
'Here I
am, for
you
called
me.' And
he said,
'I did
not
call;
lie down
again
... Now
the Lord
came and
stood
and
called
as at
other
times,
'Samuel!
Samuel!'
And
Samuel
answered,
Speak,
Lord,
for your
servant
hears."
Eli
represented
the old
order of
religion
in
Israel.
That
order
was
God-ordained,
genuine,
but by
Eli's
day was
surviving
wholly
on the
revelation
of its
past; it
had no
fresh
word
from
Heaven,
no
life-giving
inspiration,
and had
replaced
"its
first
love"
with
doctrine,
formalism,
and
ritual.
Specifically,
the
priests
had
become
“vile”.
In
seeing
that ,
God
said,
"It is
time to
shut
this
down and
begin a
new
era."
That
night,
before
the lamp
of God
“went
out” and
Samuel
fell
into the
same
slumbering
condition
as Eli,
God
said,
"Samuel!
Get up!
I am
making
changes!"
Samuel
represents
God's
provision
of new
life to
Israel.
As with
renewal
in
today's
church,
that
life was
radically
different
from the
one
Israel
had
known in
the
past. It
was
prophetic.
That new
era was
confrontational,
challenging,
confusing.
Because
of it,
Israel's
days of
uninspired,
liturgical
worship
were
ended.
Times
like
that are
always
stressful.
People
who are
spiritually
asleep
resist
such
changes--and
the
insidious
thing
about
sleep--natural
or
spiritual--is
that a
person
doesn’t
know he
is
asleep
until he
wakes
up.
Acts,
chapter
2, tells
us that
on the
day of
Pentecost
when
Jerusalem
was
crowded
with
“devout
Jews
(that
is, the
best God
had)
from
every
nation
under
heaven,”
the
strangeness
of
Pentecost
had
three
effects
on them:
They
were
“confused”,
“amazed”,
and
“perplexed”.
That
confusion
found
refuge
in their
explanation
that
these
people
were
drunk--“filled
with new
wine.”
God
could
have
cared
less
about
their
condescending
attitude.
Like it
or not,
He was
making
changes.
Note
that God
did not
speak to
Eli. He
had done
that
earlier
and had
been
refused.
Identically,
there
are
denominational
boards,
church
leaders,
and
pastors
today,
to whom
God has
spoken,
been
refused,
and to
whom He
will not
speak
again.
As with
Eli, He
is
finished
with
them.
Instead,
He may
speak to
the
church
janitor,
a
deacon,
or
Sunday
School
teacher,
fill
that one
with the
Holy
Spirit,
excite
him with
visions
and
dreams,
and use
him in
power-ministry.
Acts
2:17.
Such men
are
usually
forced
out of
their
church,
begin a
new
congregation,
and in
time
explode
in
power.
Nearly
twenty
years
ago, of
the 500
fastest
growing
churches
in
America,
450 were
not
mainline
denominational
churches.
Who were
these
healthy
congregations?
Most of
them
were
believers
who had
seen the
handwriting
“on the
wall”,
had
abandoned
hope for
their
sinking
denominational
ships,
and
stepped
into
freedom
in
Christ.
With
Bibles
in hand,
and the
wind of
the Holy
Spirit
to
propel
them,
they had
committed
themselves
to the
truth of
God. As
an
example
of
denominational
failure,
in
recent
years
the
Church
of
England
permanently
closed
more
than 600
churches
in
Britain.
Many of
these
buildings
were
converted
into
Mosques.
At the
same
time,
thousands
of new
house-churches
are
sprouting-up
across
the
nation.
What
does
that
tell us?
It says
that
while
Eli is
in his
chamber
sleeping,
Samuel
is awake
and
hearing
God. The
most
rapidly
expanding
church
in my
part of
Florida
is
pastored
by a
former
football
coach
who has
never
been to
Bible
School.
That
provides
no
problem
to God;
He is
more
concerned
for
truth
than
tradition,
devotion
than
Degrees.
Samuel's
first
reaction
to the
Voice
was to
run to
Eli for
an
explanation.
In
effect,
he was
asking
the "old
order"
to
explain
the
mystery
of God's
"new
order."
That was
a
mistake.
The old
order
cannot
explain
what it
does not
understand.
Eli's
response
was, "I
heard no
voice.
Go back
to bed."
This is
exactly
what is
happening
in the
modern
church.
In many
cases,
the old
church
says to
its
children
who have
been
caught-up
in
renewal,
"You are
disturbing
my rest.
Go back
to
sleep!
Be
quiet,
remain
in the
dark,
like the
rest of
us." As
an
obedient
son,
Samuel
tried to
submit
to his
elder.
But the
Voice
called
again.
And once
more,
Samuel
returned
to Eli.
And
again,
the old
man's
instruction
was, "Go
back to
sleep!"
The
problem
is this:
When you
have
heard
the
voice of
God, you
cannot
"go back
to
sleep."
That was
especially
true
with
Samuel.
God's
word to
him was
radical
and
frightening.
It spoke
of
coming
judgement
on the
house of
Eli;
"His
sons
made
themselves
vile and
he did
not
restrain
them."
So it is
with
denominations
today
who
accept
homosexuality
in their
clergy.
When
God's
message
to
Samuel
had
finished,
the boy
"lay
down
until
morning
and
opened
the
doors of
the
house of
the
Lord."
Scripture
indicates
that he
did not
go back
to
sleep.
At
daybreak,
Eli said
to him,
"What is
the word
that the
Lord
spoke to
you.
Please
do not
hide it
from me
..." Vs.
17.
Boldly,
Samuel
told the
old man
everything--even
though
it
foretold
the
deaths
of Eli,
his
sons,
and his
daughter-in-law.
4:11-22.
Eli
humbled
himself
and said
of the
prophecy,
"It is
the
Lord.
Let Him
do what
seems
good to
Him."
Vs. 18.
Unlike
Hezekiah,
who, in
a
similar
circum-stance
"turned
his face
to the
wall and
prayed,"
Eli made
no such
petition.
Faith
was
gone,
fatalism
had
taken
over.
But the
issue in
many
churches
and
denominations
is not
about
people
"making
themselves
vile."
Usually,
the
resistance
to God's
voice
centers
upon pet
doctrines,
religious
hobbies,
and
iron-hard
determination
to
protect
denominational-identity.
Hear me
carefully:
Whether
the
issue is
morality
or
misappropriation
of
Scripture,
God has
not
given us
the
choice
to
deviate
from His
Word.
Eli's
spiritual-eyes
may have
dimmed
with
age--but
his most
pressing
concern
was to
be left
undisturbed
and to
rest in
familiar
surroundings
of the
past.
Like
modern
Christians,
he
wanted
things
"as they
used to
be."
That
deception
caused
him to
ignore
God's
warning
about
his sons
and
Israel's
need for
spiritual
renewal.
3:13. He
made the
same
mistake
which
numerous
others
have
made
since:
Pride
would
not
allow
him to
admit
his
reign
was
inferior
to other
High
Priests.
He
assumed
that
Israel's
spiritual
life had
always
been as
it was
with
him.
Millions
of
Christians
today
fall
into the
same
trap,
naively
presuming
that
they–and
their
church–still
maintains
the
historic
principles
of their
ancestors.
Not so.
In some
cases,
only the
name
remains
unchanged.
The
chimney
is still
there
but the
fire is
gone.
Almost
imperceptibly,
religious
movements
that
began in
glory
slid
back
into
coldness.
They
urgently
need
restoration.
When
someone
appears
on the
scene
with
new,
energized-motivation
and
tries to
change
that
condition,
church
people
usually
get very
disturbed.
They
protest
loudly,
fire the
pastor,
arrange
"block"
votes to
control
the
church
and keep
it in
darkness.
Such
opposition
matters
not to
God.
When He
says, "I
am
taking
back My
church!,"
believers
will do
well to
step out
of His
way.
Their
only
option
is to
get
trampled
in the
road of
Christian
history.
The Holy
Spirit
never
causes
church
disasters;
that
happens
when
members
override
His will
and
abortively
demand
their
own way.
That
action
always
brings
chaos.
There
is no
more
perfect
illustration
of
church
degeneration
than
with
John
Wesley.
Wesley
was a
young
"Samuel,"
had the
anointing
of God
upon
him,
preached
in the
power
and
demonstration
of the
Holy
Spirit,
and saw
thousands
miraculously
transformed
and
saved.
Even so,
the
Anglican
Church
closed
its
doors to
him,
forbidding
him to
speak
from
their
pulpits.
Forced
outside,
Wesley
preached
from the
tailgates
of
wagons,
standing
on
tombstones,
or
sitting
astride
his
horse.
Tragically,
today,
his
Methodist
Church
does not
even
know his
language--much
less the
flaming
power of
his
ministry.
Returning
to the
questions:
1.
Do I
believe
we are
in the
“end
times”
prophesied
in
Scripture?
A
resounding
Yes!
2.
Do I
believe
the
Anti-Christ
is soon
to be
revealed?
Another
resounding
Yes!
3.
What do
I
foresee
for the
future
of the
Church
in
America.
Crisis,
Chaos,
Conversion!
But!
Weep
not!
There is
good
news in
Zion. In
spite of
Eli's
declining
health
and
slumbering
eyes,
Samuel
is alive
and
well. He
has
refused
the old
man's
order to
"go back
to
sleep."
Music
and
dancing
sound
from his
part of
the
Tabernacle.
The
saints
in his
care are
happy–experiencing
the
“power
and
demonstration
of the
Holy
Spirit."
My
advice
to
everyone
trapped
in dying
denominationalism
is “Get
Out!
Run!
Leave
it!
Don’t
look
back!
Remember
Lot’s
wife!
Sodom is
burning!
Escape
for your
life!”
Genesis
19:17.
Find
your
Samuel!
If you
don't
know
where he
is,
search
for him!
Love
him.
Support
him. Be
blessed
by him.
And pray
for
others
like
him,
young
and old,
who are
hearing
God's
voice in
the
night
and are
responding,
"Speak,
Lord,
your
servant
is
listening!"
These
courageous
ones,
regardless
of age,
will fan
embers
in the
Church’s
hearth
and
bring
roaring
fire
back to
the Body
of
Christ.
Be one
of them!
Leap out
of bed!
Get
ready
for the
power of
God to
fill
you! Be
prepared
to run
the full
length
of the
Kingdom
of God
with His
prophetic
word!
Jesus is
alive
and
promised
His
Bride,
“The
gates of
Hell
shall
not
prevail
against
you”!
The
handwriting
on the
wall
also
says,
In
every
condition,
In
sickness,
in
health,
In
poverty’s
vale, Or
abounding
in
wealth,
At home
and
abroad,
On the
land and
the sea,
As thy
days may
demand
Shall
thy
strength
ever be!
Amen!
CC
AT AN
INTERNATIONAL
ENGINEERING
CONFERENCE
in
France
where a
number
of
workers
were
taking
part,
including

American,
one of
the

came
back
into the

saying
'Have
you

the

stunt
Bush has
done? He
has sent
an

carrier
to
Indonesia
to help
the
tsunami
victims
What
does he
intended
to do,
bomb
them?'
A
Boeing
engineer
stood up
and
replied
quietly:
'Our
carriers
have
three
hospitals
on board
that can
treat
several
hundred
people;
they are
nuclear
powered
and can
supply
emergency
electrical
power to
shore
facilities;
they
have
three
cafeterias
with the
capacity
to feed
3,000
people
three
meals a
day,
they can
produce
several
thousand
gallons
of fresh

from sea
water
each
day, and
they
carry
half a
dozen
helicopters
for use
in
transporting
victims
and
injured
to and
from
their

deck. We
have
eleven
such
ships;
how many
does
France
have?'
You
could
have
heard a
pin
drop.

were
fulfilled
with the
burning
of
Jerusalem
and
which
are yet
to come,
only
time
will
tell.
"Immediately
after
the
tribulation
of those
days the
sun will
be
darkened,
and the
moon
will not
give its
light;
the
stars
will
fall
from
heaven,
and the
powers
of the
heavens
will be
shaken.
Then the
sign of
the Son
of Man
will
appear
in
heaven,
and then
all the
tribes
of the
earth
will
mourn,
and they
will see
the Son
of Man
coming
on the
clouds
of
heaven
with
power
and
great
glory.
And He
will
send His
angels
with a
great
sound of
a
trumpet,
and they
will
gather
together
His
elect
from the
four
winds,
from one
end of
heaven
to the
other.
(Mark
13:28-31;
Luke
21:29-33)
"Now
learn
this
parable
from the
fig
tree:
When its
branch
has
already
become
tender
and puts
forth
leaves,
you know
that
summer
is near.
So you
also,
when you
see all
these
things,
know
that it
is near
— at the
doors!
